What size should I order, and do they suit wide feet?

Our boots run large — if you have regular-width feet, size down by half a size to one full size. If you have wide feet, order your standard size. Our boots are made in the same factory as the legendary M77 military boots and feature a naturally generous, roomy toe box, so wide-footed customers typically find their standard size fits perfectly.

How durable are they — especially on the heels? Can the soles be replaced?

Very durable. The boots are built with premium 2-layer Vibram soles designed to withstand heavy wear, including high-impact heel strike. When the tread eventually wears out, a skilled cobbler can resole them — the genuine nubuck leather upper holds up to resoling, making these a long-term investment rather than a disposable boot.

What arch and instep support do they offer — are they suitable for plantar fasciitis?

These boots feature structured cushioning and Vibram soles designed to absorb shock and reduce foot fatigue, with solid built-in arch and instep support. The insoles are fully removable, so you can fit your own custom orthotics if needed — making them a strong choice for those managing plantar fasciitis.

What is the lining like — breathable or moisture-trapping?

The boots feature a built-in 4-layer Topaz waterproof membrane (similar to GTX), which is highly breathable and designed to pull moisture away from your feet. In hot dry weather, pair them with moisture-wicking socks. They are built for all-season use — not designed as summer trail shoes.

Are the laces secure on long hikes, and do they need breaking in?

Yes — the lacing system holds firm on uneven terrain. We recommend the heel-lock lacing technique for extra ankle security on steep descents. Most customers find the boots comfortable within a few outings; starting with shorter walks before full-day hikes is the best approach.

Are they suitable for older walkers or those who prioritise comfort?

Absolutely. The padded collar, cushioned insole, and supportive midsole make these a strong choice for walkers who prioritise comfort alongside durability. The roomy toe box also reduces friction and hotspots — a common complaint with narrower boots.

What is the delivery charge, and how do I manage odour over time?
